Geoff Miller was educated at Drake University and Columbia College. He spent 10 years in the vibrant Chicago arts scene working for well-known theatre companies such as the Steppenwolf, Goodman, Court, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Chicago Opera Theatre and the Nederlander-Clearchannel joint venture, Broadway in Chicago. His touring work included Macbeth, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Ballet Theatre of Chicago's Hansel and Gretel. His work was critical to the prep of the national tours of Angels in America and Saturday Night Fever.

Thanks to his extensive experience and a knack for untangling complicated situations, he has served as a critical link in several major Chicago theatrical transitions:

As Stage Supervisor, settled Shakespeare Repertory into it's new home during their first year on Navy Pier as the internationally lauded Chicago Shakespeare Theatre.
Served as the first Production Coordinator for Broadway in Chicago, operating the Shubert, Palace and Oriental theatres simultaneously. During his stay he pushed to improve union relations and to correct staffing shortages
As Technical Director for Chicago Opera Theatre, he oversaw their move from the Athenaeum Theatre to the Harris Music & Dance Theatre, guiding and advising the Production Manager and Director of Operations through their first experience with IATSE (the stagehand union).
In 2002, he shifted focus to apply his organizational and operational skills to large-scale public events. His work as a producer and event manager has been critical to the success of numerous ongoing, new and one-off events. Some of the most well known are:

Gospel Music Festival
Blues Festival
Taste of Chicago
Chicago's Air & Water Show
Viva Festival
Jazz Festival

In late 2006 he founded his own company, Criterion Productions, to provide superior, dependable, low-hassle and client-friendly event management in his adopted industry. Criterion grew quickly until late 2008 and growth paused as they weathered the economic downturn. The pause was brief for in 2010, growth resumed as new events and new clients replaced the handful of events that had fallen prey to the recession in 2009.

Geoff is a proud member of the Actor's Equity Association (stage manager), holds a dual certification from the International Society of Meeting Planners (CEP, CEM) and has served on the ISMP Advisory Council.

He also has developed a profound respect for people who design and build web sites.
