The Session
In late 2007 Criterion was approached by the Irish Charitable Society of Chicago to assist them in organizing their first event, The Session, a 4 day long celebration of authentic Irish culture including authentic Irish food, drink and music.

Together, the Society and Criterion worked feverishly for 2 months to complete a planning and permitting process that normally takes 6. Due to the compressed process, the event was scaled back slightly without losing sight of the goal - to provide a St. Patrick's Day related celebration that revels in the rich heritage of Ireland without degenerating into "spring-break" behavior and green beer.

The result was a very well-received, trouble-free 3 day free festival incorporating music and dance on the iconic Daley Plaza in the heart of downtown Chicago. All of the feedback was positive and relieved; adults and families were thrilled to have a St. Patrick's Day event without the dangers often associated with St. Patrick's Day juvenile excess.
